What qualifies me??

"Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God." - 2 Corinthians 3:5
If you had asked me a few years ago what qualified me, I probably would have shown you my CV.
I would have spoken about my degrees, my teaching experience, or the roles I've held. I thought qualifications were something you earned and could list on paper. But God has been teaching me something different.
The more I've stepped into new and unfamiliar seasons, the more I've realised that what truly qualifies me isn't what I've achieved-it's Who I belong to.
Every morning, before the emails, the to-do lists and the busyness of the day begin, I spend time with God. Those quiet moments have become my foundation. Not because I have all the answers, but because they remind me that I don't have to. God meets me in the uncertainty and gently reminds me that my confidence comes from Him.
One thing I've learnt is that life asks us to wear many hats. There are seasons where I've found myself balancing work, new opportunities, family commitments and personal dreams all at once. I've stopped chasing perfection and started asking a different question: Am I being faithful with what God has placed in front of me today?
Being a Christian isn't just something I do on Sundays. It's choosing integrity when no one is watching, showing kindness when it's inconvenient, extending grace when it's difficult and trusting God when the future feels uncertain. I don't always get it right, but I'm grateful that God isn't looking for perfection-He's looking for willing hearts.
One verse I come back to often is:
"Not that we are competent in ourselves... but our competence comes from God." — 2 Corinthians 3:5
That verse takes the pressure off. It reminds me that I don't have to prove myself before God can use me. He equips those He calls.
So if you've been wondering whether you're qualified enough for the next opportunity, maybe this is your reminder too: your greatest qualification isn't your experience or your title. It's your willingness to trust God and take the next faithful step.
Because at the end of the day, my confidence isn't found in what I've accomplished-it's found in the One who continues to qualify me every single day.
All my love
Zo xx
