We ran a 10KM... 😄

An Unexpected Beginning
Well… where do we even start? I suppose at the beginning. Over the past year and a few months I've been on a weight loss journey, and somehow it has led me here - running a solid 10KM hill non-stop. If you had told me this a while ago, I probably would have laughed. A lot has happened in between, obviously, but the biggest plot twist is that I used to hate running. Truly. I never understood why people would willingly wake up early and put themselves through something that could easily be avoided. Yet here we are… we have become those people.
The Shift
Somewhere along the way something shifted. I can't even pinpoint the exact moment, but one day I decided I didn't want to just walk anymore. Maybe it was joining the little "cult" called Vitality, maybe it was the quiet determination growing inside me, or maybe it was God gently nudging me past the limits I had set for myself.

The Preparation
Before the 10KM came the preparation. I asked my good friend Chatty to draw up a training plan, and I had about a month and a bit to execute it. And let me tell you, your girl showed up. Rain or shine, I was out there jogging my tail off. By the end of the training period, I had logged around 70 kilometers, which is actually less than the recommended 85 -100 km for that kind of race. But what made the difference wasn't just the distance; it was the mini goals along the way. Instead of staring at one intimidating finish line, I focused on small, achievable steps. Following the plan turned a big dream into manageable pieces.
Celebrating the Small Wins
And oh, the small wins. Those deserve their own moment. Going from walking 5KM in over an hour to running 5KM non-stop in under 45 minutes has been one of my biggest flexes. Not because of the time itself, but because of what it represents. It showed me that growth is possible even when you think your limits are fixed. It reminded me that the dreams we quietly put away can be unlocked again.
Strength Beyond Ourselves
More than anything, this journey has been a reminder that strength doesn't come from us alone. There were mornings I didn't feel like running, days when my legs were tired, and moments when quitting would have been easier. But every step forward felt like a quiet echo of the truth in Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Faith in Motion
Sometimes faith looks like a prayer. Sometimes it looks like perseverance. And sometimes… it looks like running up a 10KM hill when you once hated running.
Don't Despise the Small Beginnings
God has a funny way of stretching us beyond what we thought we could do. And if this journey has taught me anything, it's this: don't despise the small beginnings. Those little steps, those tiny victories, those rainy morning jogs - they might just carry you further than you ever imagined.
All my love
