This week was a blur...

It's hard to believe we're already in May. It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating Easter, and now we're in the fifth month of the year. I have so much to be thankful for, yet there are still many things I want to accomplish. I'm realizing it's okay for dreams to persist while I navigate daily life. These two aspects can coexist without negating each other. Every day brings new lessons, and I'm enjoying it.
This past week has been filled with a lot of netball, and honestly, I'm not upset about it. I'm also stepping into new environments and situations I never imagined I'd be in, but God has led me here. I started a podcast, and it's truly challenging me and expanding my skills. I'm keenly aware of the effort required to excel at something, and I look forward to reaching a point in my podcasting journey where I'm a production expert. I'm grateful for AI in this process. Lol. The podcast is incredibly fun because I get to talk about netball without holding back! Perhaps I should have been a sports journalist-imagine that!
I had the chance to watch the #TNL2026 live at the Durban University of Technology, Steve Biko campus, and it was a wonderful afternoon of netball. I was able to fully immerse myself in one of my favorite sports as a spectator and fan. I share much of this experience on my podcast, Pass and Pivot Netball Podcast, and it's refreshing when people engage with me about something I'm passionate about. I'm discovering more and more passions, and now that I have the time to pursue them fully, it's fulfilling and worthwhile.
This week, let's focus on allowing two things to coexist instead of trying to prioritize one over the other. Remember, Jesus had a mission on earth to save us through his sacrifice on the cross, yet he also focused on building relationships with his disciples. Both required his attention, and he managed to do both well. I love discussing how cool it is to follow Jesus as a young black girl, and I also enjoy talking about netball. Both are important to me, but one remains my primary focus. I'll let you guess which one that is.
Have a blessed week of coexistence and reprioritisation. God is good, and He will always take care of us in every season. I truly believe that.
Lots of love,
Zola x
